INT. PLANE. DAY.
A mousy, brown haired OZZIE GIRL (photo-journalist, 23) struggles down the aeroplane aisle carrying her camera and hand-luggage. Finding her seat, she hefts the bag to her shoulder to shove it into the overhead locker.
KIWI BOY (O.S.)
Can I help you with that?
Surprised, the girl turns around to find a good-looking KIWI BOY (Maori, 26) wearing a forest green hoodie.
OZZIE GIRL
Oh. Yes, please.
She sits down in her window-seat and immediately buries herself in a book. The Boy flops down beside her.
KIWI BOY
First time to NZ?
OZZIE GIRL
Uh, yes.
KIWI BOY
Flying solo, eh?
OZZIE GIRL
(blushing)
How can you tell?
KIWI BOY
Best way to go.
She doesn’t respond but looks back down at her book. He puts on his headphones and cranks up his music.
CUT TO
INT. PLANE. JUST BEFORE LANDING.
We follow an air-hostess down the aisle to where the Ozzie Girl stops reading and takes out her camera. The Kiwi Boy leans over and breaths in theatrically.
KIWI BOY
Great view eh?
OZZIE GIRL
Mm.
KIWI BOY
Hey, me and some of my mates - we’re having a get together tonight. There’ll be some yummy kai, bonfire, music... Why don’t you come?
OZZIE GIRL
Uh...
KIWI BOY
(with a cheeky grin)
It’ll be an adventure.
OZZIE GIRL
No. Thanks. I’ve got work to do.
CUT TO
EXT. STREET. A FEW HOURS LATER.
The Girl wanders down the street, camera and Lonely Planet guidebook in hand. Out of the corner of her eye she sees a flash of green. She looks up and sees it’s the Kiwi Boy. She calls out to him but he doesn’t hear her.
He leads her through the market place. She gets distracted by a funky jacket. When she looks up, he’s gone.
CUT TO
INT. CAFE. NEXT DAY.
The Girl, wearing her new jacket, is eating breakfast when she hears a familiar voice. She peers around the booth and sure enough the Kiwi Boy is walking out the door. The Girl scrambles to grab her things.
CUT TO
EXT. STREET. CONTINUOUS.
The Girl comes out just in time to see the Kiwi Boy getting into a rusty old Subaru. She takes a picture as the car takes off then jumps into a taxi to follow.
CUT TO
EXT. SKYLINE LUGE & GONDOLA CARPARK. A LITTLE LATER.
The Girl’s taxi pulls up just as the Kiwi Boy is heading up the mountain in a Gondola.
CUT TO
INT. GONDOLA. MOMENTS LATER.
The Girl freaks out as the ground drops away but the view wins her over and she is quickly absorbed in taking photos.
CUT TO
INT. SKYLINE THEATRE FOYER. MOMENTS LATER.
The Girl gets out of the Gondola looking flushed. The Kiwi Boy is nowhere in sight. Moving on instinct, she gravitates to the theatre where a show is about to start.
CUT TO
INT. SKYLINE THEATRE. LATER THAT AFTERNOON.
The Girl sits in the audience absorbed in the Haka. As the lights come up, she sees the Kiwi Boy turn around and ducks behind her program. Peering between the bodies, the Girl watches as the Boy greets a BIG MAORI WOMAN with a hongi. The Woman engulfs the Boy in a hug. She is crying. Surreptitiously, the Girl takes their picture.
CUT TO
EXT. LUGE TICKET COURTYARD. CONTINUOUS.
The Girl is about to leave when she hears a familiar “WHOOP”. Spinning around, she captures a quick shot of the Kiwi Boy streaming past down the hill on his cart.
CUT TO
EXT. STREET. NEXT DAY.
The Girl walks down the street, eating frozen yoghurt. She sees the familiar hoodie of the Kiwi Boy getting on a bus. She goes up to the driver.
CUT TO
EXT. BUSH WALK. SAME DAY.
The Girl walks along the track. Up ahead she sees the occasional flash of the Kiwi Boy in between the trees. She smiles and tries to capture clear a picture but he is ellusive.
CUT TO
EXT. BRIDGE & BUNGEE PLATFORM. MOMENTS LATER.
The roar of a river gets nearer as the track breaks out into a gorge. There is a wooden bridge with a Bungee station. The Girl sees the Kiwi Boy edging onto the ledge. Unable to watch, she closes her eyes and steps away.
CUT TO
INT. CAFE. NEXT MORNING.
The Girl is sitting in the window reading her book. Out of the corner of her eye, she catches a glimpse of something green passing in the street.
She turns pointedly back to the book. Unable to concentrate, she sighs, picks up her things and leaves.
CUT TO
EXT. STREET. CONTINUOUS.
The Girl comes out into the busy street looking for the Kiwi Boy but he has disappeared. She comes to a stop in front of an adventure tourism outlet. There are pictures of people kayaking, white-water rafting, heli-skiing and parachuting. They look like they’re having fun...
CUT TO
INT. PLANE. SAME DAY.
The Girl sits on a small plane looking grim.
INSTRUCTOR
You sure you want to do this?
The Girl nods and gets up. The Instructor gives her a big grin and slaps her on the back.

POV OZZIE GIRL:
We fall through the air, the ground rushing towards us, the air roaring in our ears. Suddenly we are jerked upright and everything slows down. The lake and the mountains stretch out before us.
CUT TO
INT. PLANE. SOME DAYS LATER.
The Girl, wearing a sundress, comes to her seat and lifts her bag into the locker with ease.
KIWI BOY (O.S.)
Hey! Need a hand?
She turns around and see the Kiwi Boy is sitting in the seat next to hers.
OZZIE GIRL
Hello again. Nah, I’m good.
KIWI BOY
Did you like your trip to NZ?
OZZIE GIRL
Oh yeah. 100%.
CUT TO
INT. PLANE. SAME DAY.
As they collect their belongings from the overhead lockers, the Kiwi Boy turns back to the Ozzie Girl.
KIWI BOY
So. Where to next?
OZZIE GIRL
New Zealand, of course!
The Boy begins to grin.
