THE VISITOR
By Fred Guerrier

EXT. NEW ZEALAND FOREST AREA
Pristine beauty.
In the distance, what appears to be a bright rock/ falling
star crashes to the ground, causing the ground to tremble.

EXT. FOREST
A strange looking ASTRONAUT climbs out from behind a smoking
rock, where evidence of some sort of flying vehicle had
landed.
His helmet reflects the trees and nature around. He places
his hand on a tree to steady himself.
His body reacts to touching the tree. He makes a purring
sound.
He removes his helmet slowly to reveal a strange looking
face. If the other evidence weren’t enough, this creature is
not from around here.

EXT. FOREST - LATER
The creature walks through the forest marveling at it’s
beauty great and small- from the massive trees to tiny animal
scurrying about.
He takes a bit of the soil and puts it into a pouch.
He is pleased with what he sees.

EXT. WATER - LATER
The Creature happens upon a body of water. He takes in the
breathtaking landscape.
He places hand in the water. The texture surprises him, as
does the color. He tries to collect some but the water just
seeps through his hand.
This too delights him.
He places more of his hand into the water. Then his entire
body.

EXT. OCEAN
The creature screams with delight as he skis across the
water. (or does some other crazy water sport)

EXT. FIELD
The creature spies grazing sheep.
One of the little creatures approaches closer as he grazes.
Frightened the creature scurries away, until he turns to see
the animals ignoring him.
He moves closer and tries to pet one.

EXT. BEACH
The creature lounges on the sand.
A traveling couple see him. The WOMAN looks at the MAN
quizzically.
The creature sees them and grabs his disguise quickly, which
consists of a hawaian shirt and a beret.
The couple approach.
CREATURE
Hello.
MAN
Hi.
Speaking as if English is clearly not his first or second
language.
CREATURE
Where...am...i?
WOMAN
New Zealand.
CREATURE
New...Zealand
MAN
Where are you from?
CREATURE
Uh...France?

WOMAN
France?
CREATURE
Oui, that’s right.
MAN
Fair enough, enjoy your stay mate.
The Man and Woman look at one another again and shrug.
They wave goodbye as they walk away.
The creature looks to make sure they don’t see him as he puts
some sand into his pouch.
EXT. FOREST CRASH SIGHT
The creature is plugged into a part of the smoking aircraft.
In his own language he says the following.
CREATURE
Yes sir, I think I need more time
to explore. At least a month.
He smiles to himself.
